WARNING: political rant in progress

This economy isn't getting any better and to be honest, probably won't for the foreseeable future. I don't care what the obamaites say he can't fix all of this by himself. He is in fact not the messiah but definitely a step in the right direction (with Bush and his minions of course being the ...other option). In fact it's going to take a lot more than a man with ideals to turn this nation around. Something like a UNIFIED FRONT.

It has been brought to my attention that a bill has passed through congress to continue funding the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Here is the link if you want to read it: While i am entirely for supporting the troops, this needs to end now. Now before you go and say I'm spouting liberal commie b.s. listen to my reasons.

It's not all peace and love and happiness out in the 'real world', and quite frankly not many people are under that illusion any more. If they are then there are places that can help and medications to take. I kid. Regardless of this, the fact remains that though the world chooses to go to war, for one reason or another. We chose to fight back against a legitimate threat to our nation's safety back in 2001. The world has changed since then and so have we, as a nation. The threat still exists, yes. However the threat for a black plague outbreak still exists as well. Threats are a part of life when you play in the global sandbox. Do I think they're necessary? No.

This detour that was taken from the agenda in 2001 to go finish up Bush senior's fight in Iraq was complete and utter war mongering and nothing else. Was Saddam Hussien a threat? Yes. Was he a terrible person on a global scale? Yes. Should he have been leading a country? Probably not. The dragging of our troops in to Iraq to kill the s.o.b. however was not needed. The occupation that followed was albeit more necessary to help stabilize the government but we didn't do a very good job of that either. There are more Middle Eastern nations that want America to drop off the face of the earth than ever before.

The idea that one country can legitimize another through power and military force is absurd. The only powers that can accomplish such things lie within the country themselves. In addition to this, Iraq was a legitimate country (thank you John McCain for trying to say it wasn't), not one we approved of nor endorsed but nevertheless legitimate.

We need to pull out of these regions. Keep in mind too, the Middle East has been at war with itself and killing each other off for a couple millennia. The idea of one leader continuing that gruesome tradition is nothing radical. Wrong yes but not radical.

So one scoundrel is dead and how many of our troops will continue to die for this cause?
